I’m a wee bit behind in my daily wrap ups. After a couple of days out in the countryside with all that fresh air and activity followed up with a plush cloud-like bed right next to a fireplace in a country estate … I chose sleep over the internet. Ha!
If you were following along on Instagram and Twitter, however, I didn’t miss a beat. Here’s a social wrap up of my stay at Cameron House in Loch Lomond including a country walk, a champagne cruise (had no idea you could experience that in the countryside), and a classic high tea.
A view fit for a Queen! Going for a tour around Cameron House this morning. It’s a labyrinth of hallways and spiral staircases. I’m sure there’s a secret passage way or two. I’m staying in the old house, pictured here, between the tree and the turret. It was built in the 17th century, but is completely renovated inside while keeping true to it’s Scottish country charm. #UnexpectedGB #Scotland A photo posted by Rachelle Lucas (@thetravelbite) on
Did not think I’d ever do this in Scotland. Sipping champagne while cruising around on a yacht underneath a canopy of puffy white clouds and blue skies. Who woulda thunk it. #UnexpectedGB #Scotland A photo posted by Rachelle Lucas (@thetravelbite) on
The caffeine in tea sort of sneaks up on you. After an afternoon of slowly sipping cup after comforting cup, I think I could now run a jet-like 5 minute mile. #UnexpectedGB #Scotland A photo posted by Rachelle Lucas (@thetravelbite) on
Did you know there are WALLABIES on an island in a Loch Lomond? Lady Colquhoun brought them back with her from Australia in the 1940s, and apparently, they’re now wild on the island. I zoomed in as much as I could from the boat, but didn’t see any. Another “wild thing” that lives on an island in Loch Lomond, the actor that plays The Hound on GOT! Didn’t meet him, but I hear from the locals that he’s very nice. Just don’t try and take a picture of him. 😉 ##UnexpectedGB #Scotland
