Air Fryer French Toast

THETRAVELBITE.COM

With crispy edges on the outside, and a tender custard-like center, using an air fryer is the secret to getting perfect French toast done every time.

We’ll show you what ingredients work best and how long to cook it for so that every piece comes out perfect!

A rustic Italian bread, sourdough, or brioche will work well for French toast. It won’t fall apart and get mushy when you cook it in the air fryer.

My favorite air fryer to use for this is my Ninja XL. It has a large basket and heats up quickly. I have made French toast in it so many times without having any issues with the bread getting soggy or sticking.

The first thing you’ll need to do is gather your ingredients: bread, eggs, milk (or almond or soy milk), vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

In a medium sized bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of milk, 1 egg, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Once all those ingredients are whisked together well, dunk two pieces of bread into the mixture and coat each side. Hold up the soaked bread and let any extra batter drip away.

First, start by pre-heating your air fryer. Set the temperature to 400 and pre-heat the empty basket for 3 minutes.

Once the basket is pre-heated, place the first two slices of soaked French toast inside your air fryer basket and close the door. Air Fry at 400°F for four to five minutes or until both sides are golden brown.
