Women’s Sip + Savor Summer Camp

Hosted by The Travel Bite and Go Epicurista!

Your Summer Camp Dreams, All Grown Up

When was the last time you felt that butterflies-in-your-stomach excitement of summer? That magical feeling of knowing amazing adventures and lifelong friendships await? Your soul is calling for a break … one filled with fireside chats that last until the stars come out, belly laughs that make your cheeks hurt, and the kind of connections that fill your cup for months to come.

Welcome to Sip + Savor Summer Camp, where we’ve reimagined those treasured summer camp moments with a little more luxury. Here in the breathtaking Willamette Valley, every day brings the perfect blend of nostalgic camp vibes and grown-up pleasures: yoga in vineyards, creative workshops that spark joy, nature hikes that feed your soul, and wine tastings that remind you that the best memories are made when you get in touch with your senses.

This isn’t just a retreat, it’s time spent rediscovering what makes your heart sing, all while surrounded by some of Oregon’s most stunning views and kindred spirits who get exactly what you need right now.

Why We Chose the Willamette Valley

Once you experience the magic of the Willamette Valley, you’ll understand why we fell head over heels for this place. Tucked between majestic mountain ranges, this dreamy corner of Oregon feels like you’ve stepped into the French countryside – no passport required! With rolling hills draped in vineyards, purple waves of lavender fields, and hidden olive groves, it’s giving major Provence vibes (but more casual and way closer to home). And just wait until you taste the Pinot Noir! It rivals some of the finest wines in the world (yes, we’ll be tasting plenty!). We’ve discovered some incredible hidden gems here that’ll make you forget you’re still stateside, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

    Your Day-by-Day Adventure

    Day 1: Welcome to Oregon!

Ready for the best summer camp ever? We’ll welcome you in Portland and kick things off with a welcome toast and “summer camp orientation.” It’s the perfect chance to meet your fellow adventurers. And trust us, by the end of the week, these ladies will feel like lifelong friends!

    • Arrive in Portland, Oregon
    • Meet your fellow travelers and hosts
    • Happy hour welcome toast and retreat orientation
    • Dinner on your own and free evening to explore Portland
Day 2: Olive Oil, and Wine (Oh My!)

On day two we’re heading to Willamette Valley where we’ll wander through historic Mediterranean-style olive groves at a true destination for the senses. You’ll enjoy a relaxed olive oil tasting paired with delicious food that’ll transport you straight to Europe, see the traditional olive milling process, and savor wine tasting with incredible views. And in the afternoon you can choose your own adventure! Either take a gorgeous nature walk or browse an incredible artisan shop including a curated collection of gourmet ingredients, cookware, and home treasures. The day ends at your dreamy private “boutique cottage,” your home away from home for the next few days where you’ll have free time to explore the charming town where we’ll be staying. And then as the sun sets, we’ll gather for a cozy candlelight gentle yoga class and intention setting meditation.

    • Enjoy a quintessentially Portland morning snack
    • Olive oil tasting and educational experience paired with sweet and savory small plates at the only Olioteca in Oregon
    • Wine tasting at a premiere vineyard
    • Nature hike through the estate’s olive groves and vineyards
    • Shopping at a gourmet kitchen store
    • Check-in to your private luxury boutique cottage
    • Free time to explore the charming town where we’ll be staying and dinner on your own
    • Cozy candlelight yoga and intention setting workshop
    Day 3: Wellness + Wine

Start your morning however your heart desires. You can sleep in until you’re completely refreshed, or venture out for a walk to discover a charming new-to-you coffee shop. We’ll also have morning coffee and crafts in the courtyard if you’d like to get your creativity on! Then we’re heading to a lavender farm for a picture-perfect picnic lunch (hello, perfect instagram moment!) You’ll get a chance to wander through the fields, pick lavender, and take pictures too. If that’s not swoon-worthy enough, after lunch you’ll enjoy an intimate wine tasting led by one of Oregon’s most esteemed winemakers at a winery named by Wine Enthusiast as “One of the top Pinot Noir producers in the United States.” We’ll end the day cozied up next to the fire pit with sweet and savory s’mores paired with Pinot Noir.

    • Coffee and crafts in the courtyard
    • Lavender field experience and picnic lunch
    • Afternoon wine tasting in a gorgeous setting
    • Pinot Noir with sweet and savory s’mores campfire meal
    • Evening free to enjoy exploring town on your own or relaxing by the fire pit
    Day 4: Vineyard Adventures

Morning yoga to start your day right? Check. Creative time with new friends? Absolutely. We’ll start the morning with a peaceful yoga session overlooking vineyards, then celebrate with a little bubbly and a light breakfast. Next up: a bucket-list hike through one of America’s oldest Chardonnay vineyards (trust us, the photo ops are endless!) leading to a picture-perfect lunch that looks like it belongs in a magazine. The afternoon is yours to unwind with a nap, leisurely arts and crafts, or explore the charming town at your own pace. That evening, we’ll gather for memorable farewell dinner!

    • Morning yoga in a vineyard
    • Bubbles and light breakfast
    • Historic hike through one of America’s oldest Chardonnay vineyards

    • Farewell breakfast
    • Group departure to Portland Airport (PDX)

Meet Your Camp Counselors (The Grown-Up Version!)

    Rachelle Lucas

Rachelle Lucas: If you’ve ever dreamed of having a friend who knows all the best spots, secret viewpoints, and hidden gem restaurants – that’s Rachelle! She’s been uncovering the world’s most delicious corners as a food and travel writer and TV host since 2007 (yes, she has the dream job we all wished for!). When she’s not being featured in People Magazine, Food + Wine, or USA Today (casual, right?), she’s showing off her culinary skills as the brand ambassador for Ninja Kitchen on HSN and QVC. And talk about living the dream – she once flew around the world by private jet in 22 days for the Four Seasons (we’re still pinching ourselves about that one!). But what really gives her that special hosting magic? She actually owned and ran a bed & breakfast, so she knows exactly how to make guests feel wonderfully pampered and right at home. Now, instead of just writing about amazing destinations, she’s excited to share her favorite spots with you in person – think of her as your personal guide to experiencing a place the way travel writers do, complete with insider tips she’s gathered from years of professional wanderlusting!

    Christina Thomas

Christina Thomas: Meet your cheerleader-in-chief and insider guide to all things Oregon! Born and raised in Portland, Christina speaks fluent Willamette Valley – and by that, we mean she knows every hidden wine trail and local-favorite spot in the region. Travel planning is practically in her blood (she’s been organizing events and trips since her teen years working in her mom’s tour & travel agency!), and with over two decades of making hospitality magic happen for big names like Rosen Hotels + Resorts and Planet Hollywood, she’s now brought her expertise back home to create something truly special. Every detail of this retreat has been lovingly curated through her local lens to give you those can’t-find-on-Google, exclusive experiences. When she’s not crafting perfect itineraries, she’s pursuing her passions as a food & travel enthusiast (and unofficially as an ice cream connoisseur and chocolate expert – someone’s got to do it!). Her life motto? “Make someday happen” – because why wait to enjoy life’s sweetest moments? When you meet her, you’ll understand why we call her our eternal optimist – her joy for life and love for her hometown are absolutely contagious!

    Want Your Own Private Adventure?

Can’t make it to one of our scheduled camps? No worries! We absolutely love creating custom Sip + Savor experiences for private groups, corporate retreats, and special celebrations. Whether you’re planning a bachelorette weekend that’s actually sophisticated, a milestone birthday that deserves the VIP treatment, or you want to surprise your favorite people with something truly unforgettable – we’ve got you covered!

We can design your perfect Oregon wine country escape for groups of 6-12, complete with all the magic of our summer camp experience tailored exactly to your dates and preferences. Think of it as having your own personal travel planning fairy godmothers who happen to know all the best-kept secrets in the Willamette Valley!

Ready to make it happen? Drop us a line at hello@sipsavorretreats.com and let’s chat about creating your dream getaway!

    Your Private Slice of Paradise

Let’s talk about where you’ll be staying, because these aren’t your average “cabins”. Think luxury tiny home meets boutique hotel suite, complete with everything you need to feel pampered. First and foremost, you’ll find a plush comfy bed with luxurious high thread count linens sure to welcome a great night’s sleep. You’ll have your own kitchenette (perfect for that morning coffee ritual), a courtyard where we’ll meet for yoga, and a luxury fire pit for evening s’mores and fireside chats.

    Sleeping Arrangements

No bunk beds at this camp! We think our campers will enjoy having their own private cottage (because who doesn’t love having a space to decompress?). But if you’re coming with your partner or bestie and prefer to split the cost, we have two larger cottages available if you don’t mind sharing a bed! (Because of limited availability, these will book fast!)

    Safety First, Always

Your wellbeing is everything to us – and we mean everything. We’ve carefully vetted every single activity and partner to ensure you’re in the best hands. Our team is first-aid certified, and we know all the local medical facilities (though we doubt you’ll need them!).

We believe that everyone deserves to feel completely at ease while having the time of their life. That’s why we’ve created a welcoming space that celebrates all women, regardless of age, background, fitness level, or wine expertise. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or touching your toes seems like a distant dream, whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just starting to explore what you like – you belong here. All activities can be modified to match your comfort level, and we’re here to support your journey, whatever that looks like for you.

We’ve got you covered in every way, and we mean it when we say this is a judgment-free zone where you can truly be yourself.

What Past Participants Are Saying …

Want to know what other women are saying about our Sip + Savor Summer Camp? Here are heartfelt words from past participants:

“This was a dream trip for those of us who love great food and wine, who enjoy meeting and getting to know other interesting women, who appreciate luxe accommodations, who exercise to stay healthy, and who enjoy curated travel experiences that offer a big “wow” and leave lasting memories. Every moment of this trip planned by Sip + Savor Travel hosts Rachelle Lucas and Christina Thomas was a joy, from delicious food, wine, olive oil and tea tastings to a delightful stroll through lavender fields and a rigorous hike through vineyards. Meeting, walking, and talking with winemakers and chefs was so interesting and educational. Yoga in the vineyards and in the courtyard of our sweet Boutique Retreat bungalows was perfect body-and-soul therapy.

“Summer camp” activities like the opportunity to create our own wine-glass charms and embed our own beautiful candles with lavender and gemstone bits were a lovely surprise. I’d never been to Oregon before this. I loved it so much, I’d like to return with my husband to explore Oregon and the Willamette Valley further. And I’m looking forward to other Sip + Savor trips one day!” -Jennie H.

Our “camp counselors”, Christina and Rachelle, went above and beyond in every way. This trip truly exceeded all of my expectations—and I’m certain the other ladies felt the same! From start to finish, we were treated like VIPs. Each wine tasting was a treat, especially when we were joined by the vineyard owners themselves. Their stories and insights made every “sip” even more enjoyable. The olive oil tastings were equally delicious and delightful, and the thoughtful food pairings were something to truly “savor” my palate was in bliss. Our accommodations were cozy, comfortable, and absolutely lovely.

I thoroughly enjoyed the craft workshops, the yoga sessions, the surprises along the way, and of course, the breathtaking views. But what meant the most to me were the conversations around the fire pit, the laughter, the deep connections, and the friendships that were formed. This trip was unforgettable, and I will cherish the memories forever. Thank you Christina and Rachelle!!!” -Ana T

I cannot express how amazing this trip was. Christina and Rachelle were wonderful hosts. They gave us a five star trip. The winemakers gave us exceptional private tours and wine tastings. Having a yoga class overlooking the vineyards was breathtaking. The hike through the vineyard was beautiful. We had both wine tasting and olive oil tastings. Simply over the top! Our accommodations while we were in Portland was a true gem! When we migrated to Willamette Valley we each had our own cottage. It had everything one would need. We enjoyed a scrumptious lunch among a lavender field. This was incredible. Our farewell dinner and breakfast was unbelievable. I cannot describe the flavor pallet. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Last but certainly not least I’m grateful to have met and shared this experience with such a lovely group of ladies.” -Ivy S
